Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms of Service explain the basis on which I, Frederic Robinson, provide website, WordPress, SEO and related consultancy services.
By booking a service, accepting a quote or asking me to begin agreed work, you agree to these terms.
These terms are primarily intended for business customers. Nothing in them affects any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Services
Services may include:
- Website MOTs
- WordPress help and troubleshooting
- SEO consultations
- Website improvement sessions
- Website privacy and cookie-consent implementation
- Other website-related work agreed separately
The exact scope of work will be agreed before work begins.
Anything outside the agreed scope may require additional time or a separate quote.
Quotes and pricing
Prices shown on this website apply to the services described and may be updated from time to time.
For work requiring a separate quote, I will explain the proposed scope and price before starting.
Additional work will not be carried out and charged without discussing it with you first.
Payment
Payment terms will be confirmed when the work is agreed and shown on any relevant invoice or quote.
You are responsible for paying agreed charges for work that has been completed.
Where third-party services, subscriptions, licences, hosting or other external costs are required, these will be identified separately where possible and remain your responsibility unless we agree otherwise.
Access to your website
Some work may require temporary access to WordPress, hosting, Search Console, analytics, cookie-consent platforms or other services.
You are responsible for providing appropriate access where needed.
I will only use access provided to me for the agreed work and will take reasonable care when making changes.
You should remove or change temporary access when it is no longer required.
Backups and website changes
Where work could materially affect your website, I will take reasonable steps to check that an appropriate backup or recovery option is available before proceeding.
The exact backup arrangements depend on your website, hosting provider and the work being carried out.
Websites rely on themes, plugins, hosting platforms and other third-party systems. Although reasonable care will be taken, it is not always possible to guarantee that a change will be completely risk-free.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the work required
- Providing necessary access in a reasonable time
- Having the right to use any content, images, software or other material you provide
- Reviewing work or recommendations where your approval is required
- Maintaining appropriate licences and subscriptions for third-party products you use
Delays in receiving information, access or approval may delay completion of the work.
SEO services
SEO advice and work are based on available information, professional judgement and current good practice.
I cannot guarantee specific rankings, traffic levels, enquiries or other search results.
Search engines, competitors, websites and ranking systems change over time, and many factors affecting search performance are outside my control.
Third-party services
Your website may depend on services provided by other companies, including hosting providers, WordPress plugins, themes, analytics services, search engines and cookie-consent platforms.
I am not responsible for outages, changes, bugs, pricing changes or other problems caused by third-party services that are outside my reasonable control.
Where I recommend a third-party product or service, that recommendation does not guarantee its future availability or performance.
Privacy and compliance work
I can provide practical technical help with matters such as cookie consent, CMP configuration, analytics, tracking and website privacy implementation.
This is technical website support and not legal advice.
Where legal interpretation or specialist legal advice is required, you should speak to an appropriately qualified adviser.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of content, branding, images and other materials that you provide to me.
Third-party themes, plugins, software, fonts and other licensed materials remain subject to their own licence terms.
Any rights relating to bespoke material I create will be dealt with as agreed for the particular project. Unless otherwise agreed, once full payment has been received, you may continue to use work created specifically for your website for its intended business purpose.
I retain ownership of any pre-existing tools, methods, templates or reusable material used in carrying out the work.
UK guidance confirms that commissioned copyright work is generally initially owned by its creator unless ownership is agreed otherwise, which is why it is useful to state the position clearly in the terms.
Confidentiality
I will treat non-public business information and access details you provide as confidential and will not intentionally disclose them except where necessary to provide the service or where required by law.
My handling of personal information is explained separately in the Privacy Policy.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel or postpone agreed work, please let me know as soon as possible.
Where work has already started, you may be charged for work completed up to the point of cancellation.
Any specific cancellation or rescheduling arrangements for a particular project or booked service will be explained when the work is agreed.
Delays
I will make reasonable efforts to complete work within any timeframe discussed.
Occasionally work may be delayed by technical problems, third-party providers, unavailable access, illness or circumstances outside my reasonable control.
If a significant delay occurs, I will let you know as soon as reasonably possible.
Limitation of liability
I will provide services with reasonable care and skill.
However, I cannot guarantee that websites, software, third-party services or search platforms will always operate without interruption or error.
To the extent permitted by law, I am not responsible for indirect losses or losses caused by third-party systems, unauthorised changes made by others, inaccurate information supplied to me or recommendations that have not been followed.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
Ending the working relationship
Either of us may end an agreed piece of work where there is a reasonable basis to do so.
If work ends before completion, you remain responsible for agreed charges relating to work already carried out and any unavoidable costs already incurred.
I may decline or stop work where continuing would be unlawful, unsafe, outside my competence, or where agreed payments or access are not provided.
Changes to these terms
These Terms of Service may be updated as my services or business practices change.
The version that applies to a particular piece of work will normally be the version in place when that work is agreed, unless we agree otherwise.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute relating to these terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory legal rights that apply.
