FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about the Website MOT, access requirements and what happens after the review.
Do you need access to my WordPress website?
Usually, yes. Read-only or temporary administrator access allows me to review settings, plugins, site health and other areas that cannot be assessed from the public website alone. I will confirm exactly what access is required before the review begins.
Do you need access to Google Search Console?
It is strongly recommended where available. Search Console provides useful information about indexing, search visibility and technical warnings. If it has not been set up, I can still review the website and explain what should be done next.
Will you fix the problems during the Website MOT?
The Website MOT is a review and consultation service. Minor observations may be explained during the call, but implementation is not included in the £95 price. Any practical work can be completed by you, your existing developer or quoted separately by me.
Is this an automated SEO report?
No. Automated tools may be used to support individual checks, but the website is reviewed manually. The report is based on the website, the business and the issues that genuinely deserve attention.
Can you guarantee rankings or traffic improvements?
No responsible consultant can guarantee a particular Google ranking or level of traffic. The Website MOT identifies practical improvements and priorities, but search performance depends on many factors outside any consultant’s control.
What happens after the review?
You will have a clear list of priorities and can decide what to do next. There is no obligation to purchase further work. You can make the changes yourself, use another developer or ask me for a separate implementation quote.
How long does the process take?
Once I have the required access and information, the review will normally be completed within an agreed timeframe. The exact turnaround will be confirmed before payment and booking.
Is the Website MOT suitable for ecommerce or large websites?
The £95 fixed price is intended for standard small-business websites. Larger, membership or ecommerce websites may require a tailored scope and quote because considerably more pages, functions and data may need reviewing.
